Recent Board Activity

With a changing of the guard on the Board, we welcome new Board members, Alister Wong and James Forbes, to the positions of Secretary and Director at Large, Events, respectively. As part of the Board's longer term planning process, the Board met this month to review and define a clear agenda for the coming 12 to 18 months. A Members' Forum will be convened in early May, at which Members will hear of the initiatives being considered and will be offered opportunity to provide feedback and input.

 The Board of the SGLBA was saddened by the resignation of two members in the latter part of 2010. The remaining Board members would like to acknowledge and thank Will Noble and Steve James for their contribution to the operations of the Association, and for the energy and passion they have brought to their portfolios. We wish them well with their future endeavors and thank them for their continued support as members, and continued positive advocacy of the Association.

The SGLBA is pleased to announce the appointment of new Board members, Alister Wong and James Forbes, to the positions of Secretary and Director at Large, Events, respectively. The appointment was ratified at the Special General meeting of the SGLBA, held December 8th, 2010. Both James and Alister hail from distinguished, professional backgrounds and offer a tremendous amount to the SGLBA board in terms of their experience, knowledge and expertise.

A large number of initiatives and ideas have been tabled that will be worked through over the coming months to determine their merit. The Board are committed to keeping Members fully engaged in the future direction of the Association and as such will be convening a Members' Forum in early May, at which Members will hear of the initiatives being considered and to provide the opportunity for feedback and input. The forum will also provide members an opportunity to contribute to the longer-term vision and strategy of the Association, as we look ahead to 2015 and 2020.
