Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association, New South Wales’ longest running and most successful gay and lesbian community organisation, held a special silver jubilee wine dinner at The Four Seasons Hotel, in November to celebrate twenty five years of service to the GLBTQ community.
Special guests at this gala celebration include Her Excellency the Governor of New South Wales, Prof Marie Bashir, who during her time in office has impressed all community organisations with her grasp of the issues facing young people today, and Adam Sutton, the gay cowboy recently featured on ABC’s Australian Story whose remarkable personal journey inspired Heath Ledger in the award winning movie Brokeback Mountain.
One hundred and fifty SGLBA members and their guests enjoyed a Lanson champagne reception before sitting down to a gourmet three course meal especially prepared by executive chef Marc Miron and matched to no fewer than five icon Australian and New Zealand wine styles by independent experts WineWorks International. As well as serving up celebrity guests galore and exciting lucky door prizes, this community celebration also raised funds for the Luncheon Club.
